Upgrading… So The Site May Be Feisty Today

17 07 2007

Hey, so I’m finishing moving the site to its own shiny new hosting, so I can add cool features like “vote on this comment” and other stuff.

Quick explanation– and I’ll try not to lose anyone in the process–

I just redirected humancensus.com back over to humancensus.wordpress.com, while the DNS and all that other geeky stuff gets settled on the new URL.

If you’re not into tech stuff, ignore all of what you just read, and continue checking out HC exactly as you always do.

If you’re a geek to the core, and using RSS, it may be a little botched for a day or two, but you can always check out the site directly. ;)

Hopefully, the transfer will go smoothly and no one will notice a thing! :)

Stephen: “My reasoning is that since I don’t spend any money on alcoholic beverages, I can spend a little extra to increase the quality of the food which I consume.”

Katie: “I think it’s worth paying a little more not to put chemicals and hormones into our bodies.”

Becky: “My husband is very anti-pesticides so we hope to grow much of our own food someday soon.”

Please excuse a brief observation from the peanut gallery…

Wow! I had no idea that so many people were into organic food. This is one thing that I love about Human Census– in asking the questions, my assumptions are often challenged and I really get to learn more about other people. :)

Here’s a funny link to “food desert“, courtesy of reader Stephen.

The One World Cafe Project

(This is an organic pay-what-you-feel-is-right, take-only-what-you-can-eat, restaurant in Salt Lake City, Utah (they also have some other locations).

It’s a great concept– here’s an interview on YouTube with the founder, Denise Cerreta. I’ve eaten there, and the food is fantastic. :)

P.S. Becky answered yesterday’s question first, but I forgot to follow up to get today’s question. So she has first dibs on tomorrow’s question. ;)

Always Wanted To Be A Superhero?

(…who wouldn’t?)

Check out this awesome site: City of Heroes Collectible Card Game. You can make a “baseball card” of yourself or anyone else as a “superhero”.

I was looking through their gallery of superheroes, found this one, and thought you all might get a kick out of it… ;)
