I haven’t gotten into Harry Potter. My kids are a bit too young but have seen a couple of the movies. I bought one of the books a few years ago thinking I could read it to my son. He wasn’t interested in listening at that time; the book didn’t have pictures.
In general, I prefer the book over the movie–especially when I read the book first. I enjoy seeing the movie to see if my imagination is in sync with the movie producers.
I will definitely see the movie, but I’m going to wait until the crowds die down.
I became a Harry Potter fan after the first movie came out and now I’m getting my kids hooked on it. The books are better, but it’s hard to fit everything in a book into a 2-hour movie.

I might go see it who knows…I never read any of the books. I can’t really get into fantasy books. Oh well, I like the movies though. I enjoy them.

Yeah, I’ll probably go to the film. I think I like the books better, but I hardly have time to read any more. I’ve got one of the books on CD, and it’s really well done.
I don’t have any kids, but I read so much non-fiction for work and such, that when I do have time for something fun, I usually stick to YA fiction because it’s quick, easy, light and fun.
Its likely that I will wait until it comes out on DVD. Read the first few books, they weren’t bad, but I am not a huge fan. Fiction doesn’t interest me as much as non-fiction.

I will probably wait for the DVD. My husband isn’t a fan of the books or movies. I’ve enjoyed the books since I was introduced to them in a children’s literature class back in college, but I don’t care for the movies as much. I also didn’t really like the book that this movie is based on so I’m not expecting much.
I’ll go, probably next week-ish.
I don’t remember the books that well as I read them a few years ago. Come to think of it, I don’t remember the movies that well, either.
So I guess it’s a tossup. But at least you can sit through the movie faster than you can read the book!
